.py-- an OpenSeesPy Starter File.html-- an interactive visualization of the model geometry and element connectivity..json-- all etabs-file contents collected as structured data (available in enterprise edition)
What is an "OpernSees Starter File"?
It is your first step in translating your ETABS model into OpenSeesPy format. It won't do everything for you -- but it'll save you hours of manual setup and debugging!
The file contains the parts of the Etabs model. Some have been translated to something similar in OpenSees, others are set up for you to edit.
How It Works
- Upload your
.e2kfile (from ETABS export). - This tool reads the structure and geometry.
- It creates downloadable
.html,.py, and.jsonfiles. - Allow file download and save these files locally on your computer.
- Open your model-preview
.htmlfile to make sure the element geometry was translated accurately. - Build your OpenSees model by editing the OpenSeesPy Starter
.pyfile manually. - Visualize your model: the OpenSeesPy Starter
.pyfile includes a model-viz script. - Use the model-data
.jsonfile to automate model generation and visualization (Enterprise edition only).
